Many times, people equate autism with males, and especially young boys. I know first hand given that I have sons, and when I go into their classrooms, those with autism are normally males.
However, recent research is showing that females seem to be better at masking (or hiding their autism to fitting in with society) better than males.
This means that females frequently remain undiagnosed, or their diagnosis may be delayed until their twenties or thirties. In fact, they may only receive a diagnosis themselves after one or more of their children receive a diagnosis.
Because so many people don’t see them as being autistic or even think that they could be – these women want you to share with you what you should know.
I found this video on YouTube and just thought it was best to share. Please take some time to view it. I think it will be beneficial.
